Paint Set - Malefic Skin

Paint Set - Malefic Skin: a base for mixing your own skin tones

Paint Set - Malefic Skin is a set of Green Stuff World paints focused on fantasy skin, that is on the skin of creatures you will not meet in nature. Skin is at the same time the most watched place on a whole figure. A viewer looks at the face before anything else, and when the tone does not sit, not even the finest armor will save it.

Why a set as a starting point, not as a final state

Almost every painter ends up with skin shades of their own, because the exact tone they picture is in no color chart. The route to it leads through mixing, though, and you can only mix from something. A set from one range is a substantially better starting point for this purpose than a handful of bottles from various brands: the tones handle the same way, behave comparably and a mixed shade can be repeated next time. Piece by piece you can buy a few paints, but not a system you can work in.

How to handle the set

• Mix on a wet palette, skin tones are tuned in small steps.
• Note down a ratio that worked right away, otherwise you will not repeat it.
• Apply thinly, a face does not forgive a thick layer.
• Lead the transitions on the cheeks and forehead softly, sharp edges look artificial.
• Shake the bottle before work, the pigment settles to the bottom.

Who the set is for

For painters of fantasy figures and busts who want to handle skin with tones they mix themselves and are looking for a reliable base to build on.

Keep out of the reach of children, work in a well-ventilated room.
