Paper Leaves Series - Winter 2 is paper foliage in a winter key for dioramas. It suits terrain above all, for rotting leaves trodden into mud, into puddles and into worn ruts. It is a scenic material, not a kit.

The second winter variant from the LIANG Model paper foliage range. It is neither a model nor a kit but a scenic material for dioramas and vignettes. The winter key makes it possible to work with what is typical of soaked terrain: the leaves are no longer fresh and colorful but lain, soaked through and worked into the surface.
Most dioramas have a problem with mud being merely a smooth brown area. Leaves are the simplest way to get structure and a story into it: a few leaves stuck into still damp modeling compound, more rolled into a worn rut, several floating on the surface of a puddle. The viewer then recognizes that someone drove across the terrain and that the scene has a season, not just a color. The winter key manages this effect better than summer greenery, as rotting leaves and mud belong together in color.
The best results come from working wet: sprinkle the leaves onto modeling compound or acrylic paste before it dries and press some of them into it with blunt tweezers. Once the surface has dried, go over it with a brown or gray wash; the leaves will connect with the terrain and stop lying on it as a foreign element. Make the puddles last: stick the leaves onto the bottom and only then pour clear resin or a glossy water-surface product over them. Where a vehicle drove, press the leaves down and bed them into the track.
This is a scenic accessory, not a kit. Modeling compound, glue, paints and pigments are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
