A weathering product from the numbered Pigment Jockey line by VMS. The number and the name of the shade are No. 08 Fresh Rust. The line is numbered and the individual numbers differ in shade, so check when ordering that you have the right one.
In nature rust never forms evenly. Work in layers and over small areas so that the primer coat on which the traces appear stays visible. A combination of several shades from the line looks more convincing than a single tone: fresh rust tends to be lighter and concentrated in the places of active rubbing, while old rust is darker and spreads over the surface. Try the procedure on a leftover piece of plastic before working on a finished model. The base should be clean and degreased.
VMS also makes Spot-On Pigment No. 19 Fresh Rust under the same shade name. These are not the same goods: they are two different lines by the same manufacturer, Pigment Jockey being a weathering effect and Spot-On a pigment. Check the name of the line and the number before ordering.
