Polar Pilot is a collector's figure cast in resin from the Czech manufacturer ROP o.s. It depicts a pilot in warm polar clothing. The set is meant to be assembled and painted by the modeler and suits more experienced modelers and figure painters.
The subject is an airman equipped for flying and staying in cold, arctic conditions, with a fur cap, a heavy flying suit and accessories against the frost. Equipment like that was typical of polar and northern flights, where the crews faced extremely low temperatures.
First wash the mold release residue off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks carefully and dry-fit the surfaces. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. A primer and building the color up in thin coats are recommended; you will render the face and the fur with oils or acrylics using glazes and drybrushing.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
