Six lacquer shades ready for spraying, put together for the finishes of Polish Army and Polish Air Force helicopters.
Responsibility details are not available.
The helicopters of the Polish armed forces make a rewarding modeling subject precisely because their camouflage was never entirely uniform. Individual machines differed in the layout of the blotches and in how quickly the finish faded on them. This item offers six tones that together cover the usual combinations, and it differs from the other variant of the same subject in the type of binder. Anyone building several machines at once can cover a number of different patterns with a single set.
In the package you will find reed green and leaf green, that is the pair on which most of the blotched areas rest, and moss green as the darkest green tone. Honey yellow brightens the transitions, walnut brown rounds off the brown element of the camouflage, and light blue belongs on the lower surfaces of the fuselage and the boom. Each of the shades is listed under a code of its own, so it can be bought separately when one of the bottles runs out before the others.
The shades of this line rest on a lacquer binder and are supplied in a state ready for spraying. That means they are filled into an airbrush without further thinning, or adjusted only minimally. The advantage is a firmer and smoother film, which better withstands masking tape and subsequent toning with oil paints. They have to be worked with in a well-ventilated space, and the cup of the airbrush has to be cleaned with the corresponding lacquer thinner, not with water. The dried layer is matte and ready for further surface treatment.
