Pollen - Yellow

What the scatter is for

A fine loose material in a yellow shade with which color gets into greenery. It is used for flowering meadows, for bushes and crowns in bloom, for the edges of paths and field boundaries where small yellow flowers hold on in nature, and anywhere an even grass area needs breaking up. The grain is very fine, so it does not get lost even at small scales and does not look like lumps.

How it is applied

First coat the area with thinned PVA glue, then sift the scatter through a fine sieve or take it on the tip of a brush and tap it out. Work over small areas and do not lay down a continuous carpet; in nature flowers grow in irregular islands. Once the color is in place, fix it from above with thinned PVA glue with a drop of dish soap, applied in drops or with a sprayer, so that the surface does not shift. Let it dry thoroughly and sweep the surplus away with a soft brush.

Proven procedures

• Scatter it onto a ground darker than the scatter itself; the yellow then stands out.
• Combine it with a white and a blue shade; a mixed meadow looks truer than a single-color one.
• On bushes apply the scatter only to the sunlit side of the crown.
• Catch the surplus on paper and return it to the tub.
• Apply the fixative gently; a strong jet washes the scatter away.

Who it is for

It will be put to use by builders of dioramas, railroad modelers and equally wargamers finishing playing boards and bases. A base, grass, glue and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
