The set from the manufacturer MAiM holds self-adhesive printed warning and caution signs in a postapocalyptic and zombie vein. The manufacturer offers it in a universal scale, so it can be used in scenes of differing sizes according to how large a single sign works out against the figures. The designation in the name places it as the second large set of this range — further parts exist whose contents differ. Check the number and the wording of the signs and the dimensions of the sheet against the illustration on the packaging.
In a postapocalyptic scene, signs are a storytelling device. No entry, quarantine, a warning of infection or a message scrawled by hand on sheet metal say more about a situation than another figure would. They are placed on fences, barricades, entrances, buildings and vehicle wrecks and at the same time they give a scene an accent of color in an otherwise gray-brown setting.
Degrease the base and free it of dust, otherwise the edge of the sticker will lift. Transfer the signs with tweezers and lay them down from one edge first. On an uneven surface, corrugated sheet for instance, warm the sticker lightly once it is in place and press it with a soft bristle, so that it follows the profile. Once it is applied, unify the gloss with a matte varnish and only then add the weathering: rust running from under the fixings, dust in the lower part, scratches along the edges. Tear or bend part of a sign on purpose; it looks more convincing than an unbroken surface.
The accessory is supplied as printed self-adhesive material, not as a kit. Paints, varnishes and other materials are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
