Precision Paneliner Light Grey from AK interactive is a light gray product for accentuating scribed lines, intended for light surfaces where a dark shade would look forced.
Responsibility details are not available.
A weathering product for accentuating panel lines. A paneliner differs from an ordinary wash in what you do with it: it is not applied over a whole area but as a drop next to a scribed line, from where capillary action carries it along the whole length by itself. The light gray shade is the subtlest variant and is intended for surfaces where the line should only be suggested.
The surface beneath a paneliner has to be smooth and dry; on a rough matte coat the product bleeds into the surface and loses the line. Apply it with a fine brush at the start of the line and let it wick along; break off only where the panel ends. Remove the excess downstream, that is, in the direction of the airflow or from top to bottom, and that creates a natural suggestion of soiling. Wipe only once it is dry and with the product the manufacturer recommends for this range; the wrong thinner will attack the paint beneath it. Never make all the lines equally strong, as irregularity is what tells a realistic model from a technical drawing.
For modelers of aircraft and modern equipment with light finishes, and for anyone who has so far used only dark washes and whose light surfaces have looked oversharp.
Keep out of the reach of children and work in a ventilated room. Check the type of binder and the recommended product for wiping the excess on the label.
