RAL 1001 ELFENBEIN-IVORY – RC MARKER

An RC Marker in an ivory shade

This marker from the RC Marker range carries the light cream tone recorded under the number RAL 1001. The tip carries the paint itself, so a brush, a palette and mixing are all done away with. That pays off above all on small areas, edges and narrow features, where preparing the paint takes more time than the painting itself, and on short repairs for which opening a bottle is not worth it.

What the number RAL 1001 says

RAL is the German standard of color shades, and every number in it stands for one precisely defined tone. The first digit hints at the group, and yellow and cream shades begin with a one. RAL 1001 is among the light and warm ones: the German Elfenbein and the English ivory both point to ivory, that is, to a pale tone with a cast toward beige. The number therefore defines the shade more reliably than a verbal name, which everyone pictures a little differently.

How to work with the marker

• Try the shade out first on a plastic offcut or in a place that will not be visible on the finished model.
• Apply a thin coat and let it dry; a second pass deepens the tone.
• Draw the tip in one direction, as passing back over a coat that has not dried wipes the paint away.
• On a clean and degreased flat base the paint holds more reliably than on a smooth gloss.
• Wipe the tip after work and close the marker carefully, so that it does not dry out.
• Handle thinning, cleanup and any clear coating according to the manufacturer instructions on the packaging.

The marker is supplied in the shade stated. Further shades, clear coats and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Keep out of the reach of children and work in a well ventilated room.
