Retarder Medium

Vallejo Model Color Retarder Medium

Retarder Medium is a water-based acrylic auxiliary product. It is not a paint but a drying retarder that extends the open time of acrylic paint without changing its consistency. The paint therefore stays workable longer on the palette and on the model. A 17 ml bottle with a dropper.

Use

• Wet blending and smooth transitions, where more time is needed to work the paint out.
• Reducing tip dry in the airbrush nozzle during longer sessions.
• Add a few drops at a time to the paint, or dip the brush into the retarder on the palette.
• Use sparingly; a large amount extends the drying time considerably.

Who it is for

For figure painters and modelers who work with acrylics using wet blending or longer working of the paint and want to prevent fast drying.

A water-thinnable acrylic product, non-toxic. Store closed and protect from frost.
