A riveting wheel for creating even rows of rivets on the surface of a model, the 1.24 mm variant in the double version.
Responsibility details are not available.
A riveting wheel creates an even row of small depressions on a smooth surface of a model, which once painted and picked out read as a riveted joint. Kit surfaces tend to be poor in this respect, and yet it is exactly the rows of rivets that decide whether a large area of fuselage or wing looks like sheet metal or like bare plastic. This is work on the surface that happens before painting and cannot be made up later.
The figure in the name tells the individual variants within the range of riveting wheels apart; a higher value means a coarser, sparser result and a lower one a finer result. The value of 1.24 mm is among the coarser ones and therefore suits larger scales and surfaces where the riveting is meant to remain clearly visible even under a coat of paint. The word double in the name tells the version of the tool apart within the same range; what exactly is in the box is stated by the manufacturer.
Make the pass smooth and with even, rather light pressure; you will add depth more reliably with a second pass than with more force. A straight line is kept by guiding it along a ruler, and on curves by a flexible strip laid along the shape. Try every new row first on an offcut of the same plastic, because harder plastic calls for different pressure than soft. Level the raised edges after riveting with a light pass of fine abrasive paper and get the dust off the surface before painting.
For a modeler who is taking on work with the surface and wants even rows of rivets on large areas too. The model, the paints and other tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
