A Mr.Paint modeling paint in the RLM 23 Rot shade, a saturated red according to the German aircraft shade standard.
Responsibility details are not available.
The abbreviation RLM denotes the German shade standard used to paint aircraft in the 1930s and 1940s. The number after the abbreviation defines the particular tone, so the pair RLM 23 is unambiguous and a modeler recognizes the shade from it without further description. Rot is German for red; it is a saturated, rather darker tone, not an orange signal red.
It serves anywhere a saturated red should stand out on a model of German equipment: on markings, on colored bands and on details of the finish. It also serves well outside aircraft models, whenever you need a red that does not look garish and takes a matte overcoat.
Stir the paint thoroughly before use, since the pigment settles at the bottom while it stands. Apply it in thin coats and let each dry in between; one heavy coat floods the detail and dries unevenly. Red covers less well than dark shades, so it pays to lay it over a light base, ideally white or light gray, otherwise you will be adding coats needlessly. Choose the thinner from the same range as the paint; mixing different ranges can curdle the paint. After work wipe the neck of the container and close it carefully so that the rest does not dry out. The exact thinning ratio and the cleaning method are given in the instructions from the manufacturer.
The package contains paint only. Thinner, brushes, an airbrush and a model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
