Twenty-five round magnetic discs of 40 millimeters diameter. The size for heroes, smaller monsters and models that their height will not hold up on a small base.
Responsibility details are not available.
On a round base of forty millimeters diameter it is usually the more interesting part of a whole collection that stands: commanders, heroes, smaller monsters or machines with a straddling stance. A model like that often has a high center of gravity, outstretched arms and, with them, fragile parts that fly off first in a fall. A magnetic disc glued into the bottom is therefore an investment in peaceful sleep at this size.
Twenty-five pieces in the package will cover a collection of standout figures with something to spare. To do its job the disc needs a steel counterpart: a sheet in the bottom of a case, a magnetic insert or a thin plate glued into the shelf of a display cabinet. Without one the disc does nothing and the model stands as it did before.
It is little known that the same disc can also be used while painting. A model set on a metal holder holds firmly, can be turned with one hand and does not have to be gripped by the painted parts with your fingers. Once the work is finished the magnet stays in the base and goes on serving during transport.
When gluing it in, take care that the disc lies concentric with the base. Offset to one side it would pull the model into a lean, and a tall figure then slowly tilts on a smooth surface until it leans against its neighbor. Mark the center with a pencil before applying the glue; it is quicker than correcting a part already seated. On bases with a relief bottom it is worth trimming the unevenness away first, because even a small bump under the disc is enough to make a model dance on the steel.
