A kit of the famous RX-93 mobile suit in the special Metallic Coating form, that is with parts that have a glossy metal finish from the factory. The model snaps together, the parts are separated by color and you need neither glue nor paints to finish it. You get the metal look straight out of the box, and it is the main difference from the ordinary release of the same machine.
The RX-93 is among the best-known mobile suits of the Gundam universe. It is a late single-seat combat machine with a striking silhouette, a shield and a characteristic group of independently guided weapon modules carried on its back. It is precisely those that make it one of the most powerful machines of its era in the original story, and on the model they are at the same time the most conspicuous element worth displaying.
A plated surface is worked with differently from ordinary plastic. Nip the parts off with sharp nippers at a distance from the part and trim the remaining sprue gate with a knife, as a cut tight to the part cracks the finish and a white mark is unmissable on a glossy surface. Sanding and clear coating will damage the finish, so small spots are dealt with rather by a metallic marker or a brush. Go over the panel lines carefully and test the product on a hidden part first, because a solvent can attack the coating. Handle the model as little as possible, as fingerprints show well on a metal surface, and protect the finished figure from direct sunlight.
