T-S 56 U strze 1:1000 is a miniature model of an object of the Czechoslovak heavy fortifications from the association ROP o.s. It suits collectors who prefer a whole line to one large model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A model of the blockhouse T-S 56 with the code name U strze, meaning by the ravine, in 1:1000 scale, made by the Czech association ROP o.s. The 1:1000 scale is used only exceptionally in modeling and has the peculiarity that it replaces classic modeling techniques with work close to railway modeling in the smallest sizes: what counts is the silhouette, the coarseness of the surface and the shade, not the number of engraved details.
The objects of the Czechoslovak heavy fortifications were designated by a combination of the abbreviation of the construction sector, the letter S for a blockhouse and a serial number; T here refers to the Trutnov sector. The code name U strze names the object after a terrain feature in its surroundings. The blockhouses built from the mid-1930s under the Directorate of Fortification Works were reinforced concrete objects on two floors, set into a slope so that an earth bank protected the front wall and the fire pointed sideways along the line. The objects thus covered one another and formed a continuous belt. After the Munich Agreement they were abandoned without a fight.
The undercoat and the setting into the terrain decide most of the result. Degrease the model, spray it with a thin primer and build the concrete up in a lighter gray-beige tone, into which you bring shadow with a light wash. For an impression of age a faint greenish run below the embrasures works well — only a hint, not a stripe. Handle the terrain with a thin layer of modeling compound and fine static grass; suggest the ravine or the slope by the shape of the base, not with modeled details that the scale could not carry.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
