The self-adhesive stencil Chequer L from the maker Green Stuff World carries a checker pattern with an element size of 7 mm. It is universal, so it is not cut for one model or for one scale, and you will use it everywhere you want a regular checker without laborious measuring out. The self-adhesive form means that the stencil holds on a surface by itself and you do not have to hold it down or fix it with tape all the way round.
The Chequer range is offered in three element sizes - this is the coarsest and stands out on larger areas. What decides is the proportion of the pattern to the area: too fine a checker gets lost on a large surface, too coarse a one overpowers small detail. Before work, rid the surface of dust and grease so that the stencil adheres reliably, and apply the paint in several light coats - otherwise it seeps under the edge and the pattern loses its crispness.
It suits modelers and painters of miniatures who work with an airbrush or a brush and want a regular geometric pattern without measuring out by hand. Thanks to its universal form it is not tied to one kit.
