A liquid weathering product from the solvent-based effect range of AK interactive. It aims at a specific situation that ordinary dust and rust do not cover: dark, greasy-looking grime and algae-like slime of the kind that clings where a surface stays damp for a long time. The shade is dark, toward green-brown, and therefore looks best on surfaces where water runs down rather than spread over a whole model. A note when looking for it: the same or a very similar name is used for a comparable effect by several other manufacturers – this product is from the solvent-based AK interactive range.
It will be appreciated by builders of ships and dioramas and by anyone who wants a model to tell the story of a damp, unmaintained setting. Apply it thinly, ideally vertically and from top to bottom, so that the effect follows the direction of the running water. Ideally wipe part of the layer away with a brush moistened in mineral spirits – only a hint then remains in the seams and recesses, which looks more believable than a continuous area. Combining it with a dark wash and a fine green pigment heightens the impression of damp. Let the base cure and seal it with a clear coat, so that corrections can be made safely. Stir the bottle before use.
