Squared Cutters for Bases - cutting out square bases

The square counterpart of the Green Stuff World cutting shapes. Sharp corners are exactly what is hardest to do with a knife by hand: on a square base every inaccuracy is noticed at first glance, because the eye compares the opposite sides. You lay the tool on rolled-out epoxy compound, cork, a texture sheet or thin plastic and with one press get a clean shape with the same corners every time.

Use

• Roll the compound out to an even thickness; an uneven sheet warps after cutting.
• Press the texture in before cutting; the edges then stay sharp and unsmeared.
• On diorama plinths the same shape serves to cut both the base sheet and the covering layer.
• Check the corners after taking the piece out and tidy them up with the point of a scalpel if needed.
• Wipe the tool right after use; remains of compound reduce the accuracy of the cut.

Who the tool is for

For builders of figures on square bases, makers of small dioramas and everyone who needs a repeatably identical shape of surface. It pays off on larger batches, where the uniform look of the bases carries as much weight in the final impression as the figures themselves.

The cutting edges are sharp - work on a firm surface and store it out of the reach of children. Compound, cork and bases are not included in the package.
