Static grass with a fiber length of two to three millimeters in a golden autumn shade, in a package of 200 ml. A short fiber of this length suits stubble, mown meadows and the edges of fields perfectly, that is exactly the setting in which a large part of wartime and civilian scenes take place.
An autumn shade places the scene in a particular season, which in dioramas is an unusually powerful tool: the color of the grass alone tells the viewer that the harvest is over and that autumn mud is coming. It combines well with green shades on the field margins and with dry brown tones in the ruts left by vehicles.
Coat the area with PVA glue and apply the grass with an electrostatic applicator so that the fibers stand up. Build the area in layers and let the glue dry between them; a second layer laid over the first gives the growth depth. Where a vehicle has driven through, press the grass down and tone it toward brown. Vacuum the excess off once it has dried.
This is a material for making landscape. The glue and the applicator are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. The autumn shade comes into its own most when you add bare muddy earth and a few darker tufts to it.
