A set of three trees with a sunlit crown keyed toward yellow. Height 7.62 to 10.1 cm; the trunk can be shaped and the pin at the bottom holds the tree in the terrain.
Responsibility details are not available.
The color keying of this set comes from the way foliage looks when it is flooded with noon sun: the top of the crown has the palest tone, shifted toward yellow, while the lower parts stay more saturated. The difference between the upper and the lower part can be seen from eye height already and gives a scene the depth that single-color greenery does not have.
Inside you will find 3 trees measuring 7.62 to 10.1 cm. For a model layout in 1:160 that means a tree around twelve to sixteen meters tall, so a full-grown tree. In 1:48 the same piece works out at just under four to five meters and will serve as a younger planting by a house or along a path. Use across scales is therefore a matter of what role the tree is to play in a scene.
The trunk is pliable, so it can be leaned and turned and the branches led out to the sides. A pin projects from the bottom, by which the tree is set into a pre-drilled hole; the separable plate under the pin takes the place of glue for as long as the arrangement is still being tuned. Once the composition is finished, it is enough to anchor the pin with glue and set the plate aside.
Sunlit crowns belong at the edge of a stand of trees and on the south side of a slope, where the most light falls on them. Inside a wood they would look unnatural; darker variants suit that place. Alternating the two groups creates a transition from dense growth to open country. A set of three pieces is enough for such a transition, provided you do not set them in a single straight line.
