The subject is Cybaster, one of the best-known machines from the Japanese tactical game series Super Robot Wars, which stands apart from the typical mechanical robots through its slender silhouette and the cloak element on its back.
Super Robot Wars is a long-running Japanese game series in which robots from various animated shows meet in one story alongside original machines created for the game itself. Cybaster is one of those original designs and it appears in the series again and again, which has made it one of its recognizable icons. The model therefore does not come from real equipment but from game and animation design.
Nip the parts off the sprue a little from the part and clean the remainder of the gate up with a knife, and you will avoid white stress marks on the edge. With mecha kits it pays off to pick the engraved lines out with a dark paneliner, which gives the model more depth at once. The separation of colors can be refined with a hand brush on the small areas, or the whole model can be sprayed once the joints are masked off. At the end, even the surface out with a matte or semi-gloss varnish, depending on the look you want. Do not flood the moving joints with varnish, because they would stiffen.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
