SW Legion Silhouette - Fluor Orange

A silhouette for determining visibility - bright orange

A gaming aid from the Spanish brand Green Stuff World for tabletop battles with figures. A number of rule systems determine visibility through the so-called silhouette, that is a simplified outline of the volume of a unit, so that players do not have to argue about whether only the tip of a spear or an antenna is visible. This aid makes the outline present beside the model and turns an estimate into an unambiguous fact.

What it is for

• Deciding whether a target is visible or is covered by terrain.
• Assessing partial cover, when only part of the outline protrudes.
• Agreeing the reading of a situation between both players before a die is rolled.
• The bright orange comes into its own best on green and grassy terrain, where it is at its most contrasting.

Telling the two sides apart by color

The practical advantage of the color variants is that each player can take a shade of their own. On a board with several situations going on it is then immediately clear whose aid is lying where, and no mix-up happens during a turn. Orange suits that purpose in a pair particularly well, because it does not coincide visually with the green or the red variant of the same line.

Who it is for

For players of tabletop battles, for judges and for tournament organizers who need quick and unquestionable decisions. The procedure for determining visibility always follows the rules of the particular game, and the aid does not replace them.

The exact dimensions, the material and the number of pieces in the package are stated on the packaging. This is not an official accessory to any rule system, but an aid from a maker of modeling accessories.
