SYRIAN GROUND

AMMO Syrian Ground, a weathering pigment

This is not a paint but a very fine loose powder. The pigment is applied dry and creates a real thin layer of dust on the surface, with a depth and a matte quality that sprayed paint cannot imitate. The shade matches the light, beige-leaning dusty earth of dry regions, that is, what settles on hardware in a hot and waterless environment.

Use

• Apply it dry with a soft brush to the places where dust would really collect: the running gear, the fenders, the lower edges and the horizontal surfaces.
• Tap or wipe off the excess, the pigment should look uneven, not like a continuous coating.
• Fix it only at the very end, with a drop of fixer or thinner laid down beside the layer so that it soaks through, not brushed over it.
• Build it up in stages; one shade of dusting is usually not enough, and only a combination of two or three looks convincing.
• It also suits coloring the base of a diorama and tying the model to its groundwork.

Who the pigment is for

For builders of ground hardware and dioramas from desert and steppe regions and for anyone who wants to do dusting by layering instead of spraying. The pigment also suits figures and the dusty footwear and lower parts of equipment.

The pigment is a very fine powder. Do not inhale it, do not blow on it and work in a draft-free area. Close the jar carefully after use.
