T-34 and the IDF: The Untold Story is an English-language publication from the Abteilung 502 publishing house about captured T-34 tanks in the hands of the Israeli army. It is not a kit but a book.
Responsibility details are not available.
The book by the authors Michael Mass and Maor Levy treats a little-known chapter of the postwar history of the Soviet T-34 tank in the Middle East. It was published by Abteilung 502, the publication has 88 pages and it is in the English language. It is not a modeling kit and not an accessory, but a printed publication that modelers use as a pictorial and factual reference.
The T-34 reached the Middle East in 1955 and in the Egyptian army it quickly became one of the main types. During the Sinai campaign in 1956 Israeli Shermans and AMX-13 light tanks clashed with it in combat for the first time and the Israeli army captured several examples. The captured machines then went through tests and detailed study, served for the training of tank corps crews, and their technical properties were reflected in the further development of Israeli armored equipment. It is precisely this part of the story, that is, what happened to the captured machines after the fighting ended, that is usually left out in the literature about the T-34.
For modelers of armored equipment who are looking for an unconventional subject for a T-34 model, and for those interested in the military history of the Middle East. English at the level of reading a technical text is a prerequisite, but the pictorial part is comprehensible even without it.
This is a book publication. It does not contain model parts, decals or any other modeling material.
