A plate with an engraved relief of chain mail in the variant with a coarser link. Impressing it into soft modeling putty creates an area of mail that would be very slow to carve by hand and never as regular. The designation Size L refers to the link size of the pattern, not to the size of the plate. The dimensions of the plate and the material are stated on the box.

Use

• Roll the modeling putty out into a thin, even layer.
• Lightly moisten the plate and the putty, or wipe them with a release agent, otherwise the putty will stick in the relief.
• Press evenly over the whole area, ideally with a roller rather than with your fingers, otherwise the impression comes out uneven.
• Lift the impression off carefully, let it cure and only then trim it to shape.
• Glue the finished sheet onto the figure and blend the transitions with filler.

Who it is for

For painters of fantasy and historical figures, converters and anyone who makes their own armor, mail skirts or hoods. The coarser link comes into its own on larger figures, on robust armor and anywhere the mail should stay easy to read even after painting.

The plate is a tool, not a kit. Modeling putty, release agent and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
