The fourth volume of the Modern Conflicts Profile Guide series from the Spanish publisher AK Interactive deals with the Iran-Iraq war of 1980 to 1988, one of the longest conventional conflicts of the twentieth century. The publication treats it factually and as documentation, with the emphasis on the military equipment of both sides and its finishes.
For a modeler this conflict is remarkable for the variety of the equipment used: machines of Eastern as well as Western origin served on both sides, often in unusual camouflage adapted to the desert and marshy terrain of the southern front. A profile publication therefore opens up a number of subjects that appear in collections only rarely, and gives them a color basis a build can genuinely rest on.
For modelers of modern military equipment drawn to a less usual subject outside the traditional Second World War themes, and for anyone interested in the military history of the Middle East. Profile series of this kind serve above all as a color reference: they help you pick a credible scheme and the shades for a particular machine.
This is a printed publication — no kit and no paints are included.
