Responsibility details are not available.
A limited-edition injection-molded plastic kit of early high-altitude Spitfires in 1:48 scale from Three Oaks. The package is built on quality Eduard plastic and rounded out with photo-etched parts, painting masks, and a rich decal set. It offers several airframe configurations — the standard Mk.VI, the tropicalized version with a Vokes filter, and the lightened Mk.VC with an Aboukir filter and modified high-altitude wingtips.
The Supermarine Spitfire is one of the most iconic fighters of the Second World War. The high-altitude versions (HF, High Flight) were adapted for combat at great heights — they received supercharged Rolls-Royce Merlin engines tuned for altitude, extended wingtips, and, on the Mk.VI, a pressurized cockpit. These aircraft served mainly to counter high-flying reconnaissance and bomber aircraft.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue with thin liquid plastic cement; glue the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate (super glue). Apply a primer before painting; the included masks make sharp camouflage transitions and canopy framing easier. Highlight panel lines with a wash. Given the number of variants, decide on the specific configuration and its parts (filter, wingtips, radiators) beforehand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
