The DSPIAE 2.6 mm tungsten steel drill bit is a single modeling bit. The manufacturer intends it for plastic, but the way you drill differs according to the material you are going into.
Responsibility details are not available.
One particular diameter from the DSPIAE modeling range. According to the name it is intended for plastic models; it is held in a hand pin vise or a micro drill, and the drive itself is not included.
Injection-molded plastic is the most obliging to drill. It is tough, it holds its shape, and the main risk is melting at high speeds. Resin parts from upgrade sets, on the other hand, are harder and more brittle. They crack when you drill close to an edge or when you push, and the fine dust that results should not be breathed. A hand pin vise and a slow approach are therefore safer.
Photo-etched parts you need not drill at all, as thin sheet bends under the tip before it is cut through and the bit slips. If you really do need a hole in a photo-etched part, back the part with a hard surface and start with a dimple.
In every case it holds that you guide the bit square and do not ask it for sideways work. Opening a finished hole out by levering means straining the bit in exactly the way it is not built for.
For the modeler who combines a plastic kit with upgrade sets and needs one particular extra diameter.
Sharp tool, keep out of the reach of children. When drilling resin, use respiratory protection and do not breathe the dust.
