A Lifecolor modeling paint in a neutral gray shade, carried under the designations UA046 and FS35173.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lifecolor paint in a neutral gray shade is carried under the designations UA046 and FS35173. The abbreviation FS refers to the American Federal Standard, which describes shades by a numerical code, so the shade can be looked up in reference material for the subject as well. A neutral gray has no marked color cast, so it behaves calmly and does not override neighboring areas.
Gray tones without a cast belong to the basic equipment of a workshop. They come into their own on the lower surfaces of aircraft, on the decks and superstructures of ships, in interiors and as a base under lighter shades. They also mix well: an addition of neutral gray lowers the saturation of another color without shifting its color tone. Whether the shade matches a particular finish on your subject is something to check by the FS number in your reference material for the build.
Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before work, as the pigment settles at the bottom while standing and unstirred paint covers unevenly. For an airbrush thin the paint with a thinner designated for this range according to the manufacturer's directions on the packaging and lay it on in two to three weak layers, with the area left to dry between them; weak layers preserve the engraving, while one heavy layer floods it. For a brush, the paint suits unthinned or only slightly thinned, and run the strokes in one direction. Before applying decals, varnish the area with a gloss varnish; the matte varnish comes only at the end of the build.
The delivery contains the shade of paint named. Thinner, brushes, varnishes and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
