Utility bodies tend to be dull in color, and that is exactly their strength: a large, continuous area of a single mid-green can look far more convincing on a model than a colorful finish. This tone sits in the middle of the green band and is slightly grayed, so it reads neither as fresh grass nor as a dark forest shade. The number in the name refers to the American Federal Standard color standard.
A large single-color wall of a body is a trap on a model, because in reality it is never uniform. Individual panels differ in the age of the paint, in repairs and in the degree of fading. Apply the green with small differences between the panels, then: lighten some, leave others darker, or make one panel obviously newer, as after a repair. On the vertical surfaces it is then enough to suggest the traces of water running down from the edges of the roof and a few vertical streaks below the rivets. The lower third of a body is always dirtier than the upper part.
For modelers of trucks and service vehicles, for builders of dioramas with a transfer yard or a company yard, and for anyone who needs a neutral green surface that will take further layers of weathering.
