Regio Esercito Tela Grigioverde acrylic paint

This is a modeling acrylic paint from the Italian manufacturer Lifecolor, that is a paint thinnable with water, not an enamel or a lacquer. The shade is gray-green and in the manufacturer's color system it stands for the canvas and fabric equipment of the Italian Royal Army, that is vehicle tarpaulins, tents, shelter halves, straps and other textile gear. The range is developed for modeling use, so once dry it gives a matte surface without sheen.

How to work with the paint

Shake the bottle properly before use, as an acrylic dispersion settles to the bottom when it stands. It is applied with a brush as well as an airbrush; for spraying it is thinned with water or with acrylic thinner of the same chemistry, never with lacquer or enamel thinner. Apply several thin coats, as one thick one would smother the detail. A matte surface is ideal for subsequent shading with a wash and for a dry brush, but under decals it first needs coating locally with gloss varnish, or a dulled patch will appear under the decal. Wash brushes immediately after work, as dried acrylic can no longer be got out of the bristles.

Who the paint is for

It suits builders of military vehicles and figures who need a convincing shade of canvas and tarpaulin fabric, and especially those who work on Italian vehicles and units of the Second World War. It is usable outside that subject too, wherever a subdued gray-green in a matte finish is needed.

A water-based acrylic paint. Do not mix it with lacquers or enamels, use it in a well ventilated space and keep it out of the reach of children. Thinner, brushes and an airbrush are not included in the package.
