Trousers tended to have a different tone from the tunic, and the shade M35-41 Trousers from Lifecolor makes it possible to show that on a figure. A water-based acrylic paint from the uniform line.

The field trousers of the M35 to M41 pattern were given a tone of their own in the uniform line of the Lifecolor brand, separate from the tunic of the same period. That is no pointless distinction: trousers were sewn from a different batch of fabric, were washed more often and worn longer, so they almost always differed from the upper part in shade. The M35-41 Trousers shade is a water-based acrylic paint intended for the uniforms and kit of figures.
A figure painted in one tone from top to bottom reads as though cast from one piece. It is enough to shift the trousers a little away from the tone of the tunic and the figure gains depth, because the eye distinguishes two parts of the clothing before it manages to read the detail. It also emphasizes the waist, the belt and where the tunic is pulled over the trousers, that is the places where woolen cloth meets leather equipment and canvas straps on a figure.
It will be appreciated by modelers of figures who care about the believability of a whole figure, and by builders of dioramas with several figures, where a uniform tone catches the eye most. It follows naturally from the shade of the tunic of the same pattern in the same series.
