The earthy brown tone that kit takes on after a longer spell in the field is brought by the acrylic paint Lifecolor Isonzo Braun. It is used where the original shade has been shifted by service.
Responsibility details are not available.
The acrylic shade Isonzo Braun stands in the brown part of the range beside the leather tones, but it is aimed elsewhere: at a brown that got into things only with time. Mud, dust, sweat and sunlight shift the original color of kit and clothing in exactly this direction, toward a subdued earthy brown without pronounced color.
On many models wear is handled at the end, in thin layers over a finished coat. An earthy brown makes it possible to go the other way too and to apply straight away the tone the area would arrive at anyway. That suits wherever an object is dusty all over and evenly, so that adding effects afterward would only complicate the work needlessly. The richer original shade is then simply left showing through in the places the grime does not reach.
It suits modelers of figures and dioramas who work with a coherent setting, and anyone who wants one more intermediate step between a clean and a thoroughly loaded surface.
Stir the contents before work. Store it in a closed container, out of the reach of children and out of direct sun.
