A black with a name of its own: the acrylic shade Lifecolor Poison Black is aimed at engine parts, rubber components and deep shadows, where an area is meant to be really dark.
Responsibility details are not available.
Black is used differently in modeling than in ordinary painting. A large area sprayed in pure black acts like a hole on a small object, because in scale even a black surface appears lighter than it really is. That is why it pays to have several black tones in a palette and to choose by the task. Poison Black from the Lifecolor acrylic range is one of them.
Let it show through in some places and overpower it in others. Black gives the best result as an underlying coat: you lay it over the whole area and apply the next tone so that it stays visible in the corners, around the rivets and under protrusions. The model gains by that the depth a uniform finish never has.
On metal parts the opposite of what one would expect holds. Metal does not act metallic because the whole of it shines, but because beside a shiny patch there are plenty of dark surroundings. Black is therefore just as important a tool for the impression of metal as the metallic colors themselves.
For builders of vehicles, motorcycles and cars and for diorama makers who need a reliable dark area for shadows and under detailed work.
Use in a ventilated area, close the container carefully and store out of the reach of children.
