Vulcanized rubber has a tone of its own, and the acrylic paint Lifecolor Vulcanized Rubber is aimed at exactly that: for tires, tire bands, hoses and seals.
Responsibility details are not available.
A tire is not black. It is a dark gray with a cast toward brown, because rubber loses its richness under the influence of light and use. A modeler who reaches for black on the wheels prepares the most conspicuous mistake of the whole model. The acrylic shade Lifecolor Vulcanized Rubber is built directly for this material and the difference is visible at once.
An even area is enough as a starting point, but rubber comes alive only through the difference between the sidewall and the tread. The sidewall stays darker and smoother, while the surface that touches the ground is lightened by dust and wear. A dry brush with a dust tone along the edges of the pattern will give a wheel depth, while a thin darker glaze in the grooves will, on the contrary, emphasize the shape. With tracked vehicles the rubber tire band is distinguished from the metal disc in the same way.
It will be appreciated by builders of military and civilian vehicles, by modelers of cars and motorcycles, and by everyone who makes dioramas where wheels stand in dust or mud. It is one of the colors that nothing in a modeling palette can replace, because the right tone of rubber cannot be mixed from an ordinary black.
Keep out of the reach of children, work in a well-ventilated area and close the container after use.
