A modeling paint in a brown shade listed as Uniform Brown with a reference to the chart designation FS 30145.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a muted brown listed under the name Uniform Brown. The number in brackets refers to the American chart of shades, in which every tone has a five-digit designation; the first digit of this number means that the sample of the shade is matte. The reference to the chart is practical in that it lets the shade be compared with paints from other lines without any mixing.
The name points at the color of uniforms, so the shade belongs above all on the gear and clothing of figures. It serves just as well on canvas parts of equipment, on bags and straps, or as a darker earthy area on vehicles. A brown of this kind is low in saturation, so it can be combined with ocher and olive tones without trouble and does not overpower them.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before use; the pigment settles at the bottom. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, that is, the thinner intended for this line. Apply in several thin coats and let them become tacky in between; one heavy coat floods the engraving and on a figure wipes out fine folds. Wash and degrease the surface before painting; the paint holds better on a primed base. On figures it pays to lighten the shade on the raised areas first and only then to shade, because once dry brown tones are harder to tell apart.
The paint itself is supplied. Thinner, primer, varnishes, brushes and figures are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
