A fantasy figure from the Rage of Ages range in the 54 mm format. It is a standalone collector's piece, not a kit and not an accessory for a model. The castings in this range are resin, so they are handled differently from plastic: they are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue, sanded wet and washed before painting so that no mold release agent is left on the surface.
Once it has been washed and dried, cut the casting blocks off with a saw, level the mating faces and try the parts dry. Secure the heavier parts with a wire pin, as glue on its own is the weak point on a larger figure. Fill the seams, sand them back and only then prime.
With a figure you will not be picking up during a game but standing in a display case, what it stands on also decides the final impression. A simple plinth of hardwood or a smoothly painted cylinder looks better than a laborious scene that draws attention away from the character, as less really is more here. Keep the groundwork restrained: fine sand or a small texture worked into the putty is quite enough to keep the figure from standing on an empty surface. If you paint the plinth separately, leave the joint for last and unify the transition between the figure and the base with a thin layer of pigment or a dusty shade, so that the character does not look simply placed on top. Seal the finished figure with a matte varnish; it protects the paint when the figure is carried and evens out the differing gloss of the individual shades.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
