Spare wipe for the AK interactive wet palette

A consumable spare part for the AK interactive wet palette. A wet palette is a closable dish in which a soaked wipe lies with membrane paper over it. Paint laid on the paper stays workable markedly longer than on an ordinary plastic palette, because it keeps getting moisture from below. The wipe wears out with use and becomes clogged with pigment, so it is sold separately as a replacement.

What is in the package and what is not

This is the wipe alone. The wet palette and spare membrane papers are not included; those are bought separately. If you are only just getting a palette, look for a complete set, not this item.

Use

• Soak the wipe in clean water before work and let the excess drip off, so that no puddle stands under the paper.
• Lay the membrane paper on the moist wipe and mix the paints only on that.
• When the paint on the paper thickens, it is enough to moisten the wipe gently again, not to pour water on from above.
• After work, wash the wipe in lukewarm water and let it dry freely outside the closed palette.
• Never store a moist wipe closed and in the warmth, because it will smell and go moldy.

For anyone who paints with acrylics and a brush: figure painters who mix shades and layer skin and fabrics, and modelers whose paint dries on an ordinary palette before they manage to apply it. Before buying, check that the wipe matches your palette in size: it fits the palette of the same manufacturer, and with other brands that may not hold.
