German schemes are described through two separate systems. Aircraft colours carry an RLM designation with a two-digit number, while ground equipment works from dark yellow, olive green and red brown. This group covers both, so the shades for a fighter and for a tracked vehicle come from the same place, which matters if you build across both subjects and want one consistent interpretation. The two systems also behave differently under the airbrush: a splinter pattern on a wing wants a hard edge, and a late-war armour scheme usually wants none at all, so masking supplies and free-hand spraying both have a place in the same session. Dry dust settling into a dark yellow finish is built with weathering pigments.
