Tamiya XF-18 Medium Blue is a matte enamel (synthetic) modeling paint in a 10 ml bottle — a medium blue for aircraft and naval camouflage. Thinned with thinner X-20 (no A), not water.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Tamiya modeling paint from the Color Enamel range in a bottle with a volume of 10 ml. The designation XF means a matte (flat) finish. It is a solvent-based (synthetic) enamel, thinned with Tamiya thinner X-20 — not X-20A, which belongs to the acrylic range. Tamiya uses the same shade number for one of its acrylic, water-thinnable paints as well; this item is the enamel version, so do not confuse it with the acrylic one. This is a paint, not a kit — the package contains only a bottle of paint.
The paint is suited for both airbrush and brush use. For spraying, thin it with X-20; the manufacturer recommends roughly 2 parts thinner to 10 parts paint. Always mix the bottle thoroughly before use to lift the pigment off the bottom. If you are building a specific historical scheme, check the exact shade and its placement against reference material — blue camouflage tones vary between individual aircraft and periods. Apply a gloss varnish under decals so they do not silver, and unify the finished model with a matte varnish at the end. Choose a varnish compatible with an enamel base.
For modelers of aircraft and naval subjects who work with enamel paints and need a reliable medium blue for camouflage, accessories or mixing shades.
The paint is flammable and contains organic solvents. It irritates the airways — work in a well-ventilated area, and use respiratory protection when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children, away from open flames and heat sources.
