XF-27 Black Green 10ml

Tamiya XF-27 Black Green - Flat Acrylic Paint, 10 ml

Tamiya XF-27 Black Green is a very dark green shade from the Acrylic MINI range, packaged in a bottle with a volume of 10 ml. Note that you are not buying a kit - it is a modeling paint for painting a model. At Tamiya the XF prefix denotes a flat finish (gloss is found in the X range). The manufacturer describes the shade as a very dark green, excellent for the camouflage schemes of German aircraft.

Use

• The dark component of German aircraft camouflage - typically where it is combined with other green and gray tones.
• On the model it reads almost as black, and the green shows mainly in sharp light. That is exactly why it also serves as a smarter black - for wheels, tires, instruments and shaded areas where a pure black would look dead.
• It is applied with an airbrush as well as a brush. Dark shades have strong coverage, so a thin coat is enough.
• It is thinned with X-20A acrylic thinner; X-20 thinner is for enamel paints, not for this acrylic range.
• Before applying decals, give the area a coat of gloss varnish - on a flat base the edge of the decal shows up as a silvery patch. The flat look is brought back with a final matte varnish.

Who it is for

For builders of Second World War aircraft who need the darkest tone of a camouflage scheme, and for modelers of vehicles and figures looking for a green on the edge of black. The flat finish matches real military vehicles and at the same time serves as an excellent base for a dry brush and for washes, which pull the detail out of an almost black surface.

Use in a well-ventilated area. When airbrushing, wear a respirator and protect your eyes. Keep out of the reach of children and always close the bottle carefully.
