A plastic kit of Godzilla from the Japanese manufacturer Bandai, capturing the appearance of the monster from the film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. It is not a finished figure: it is supplied as parts that have to be assembled. The model is large, according to the manufacturer it stands around 25.5 cm, and for this range the manufacturer does not give a scale.
The subject is a film monster, not a real animal and not a vehicle, so the main thing to buy on is the form and the construction of the model. The special feature is its two-layer construction: an inner skeleton, whose form was designed by the artist Shinji Nishikawa, and over it an outer skin after the appearance in the film. The model can therefore be displayed in two ways — either finished with the skin, or with the skeleton exposed, which otherwise stays hidden. Because of the size and weight of the body, according to the manufacturer the package holds two dedicated supports that hold the figure in a stable stance.
On large parts level the remains of the sprue gates and the parting seams carefully, because on an expanse of that size they are conspicuous. If you want to display the skeleton, think it through before building: glued joints cannot be taken apart again. The skin of the monster is brought to life by a dark wash into the folds and a dry brush on the ridges of the back. If you choose to paint, start with a primer and count on a larger quantity of paint than for an ordinary figure.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
