This printed display base represents one partial section (part 3) of the flight deck of the British aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious in 1:72 scale. It is made as a rigid plastic board printed with durable latex ink on laminated matte vinyl with a waterproof, durable surface of almost photographic quality. The separate section matches the other parts of the deck, so you can put the whole area together step by step, or use only this stretch.
HMS Illustrious was a British Invincible class aircraft carrier. Her flight deck served aircraft with vertical or short takeoff and helicopters. The printing faithfully captures the markings and the surface of the corresponding stretch of deck.
The base works as a display base under a finished model of matching size or as a matching part of a larger whole. It is laid on a flat surface and the model is placed on it without gluing, or fixed in place. It suits modeling photography too.
