A bomb bay for the Avro Lancaster 1:144 from Griffon Model is an aftermarket resin accessory. It is not a model of the aircraft but a part for refining an existing kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory, not a kit: the set replaces or supplements the bomb bay area of the British four-engine Avro Lancaster bomber on models in 1:144 scale. It is made by Griffon Model and it is a resin accessory for aircraft models. The basic model of the aircraft is not included in the package. The exact contents of the set are given on the manufacturer's packaging.
The bomb bay is a conspicuous feature on the Lancaster: it runs along a substantial part of the fuselage, and with the doors open the supporting structure and the stowage of the bombs can be seen inside. Plastic kits in 1:144 scale usually deal with this area only in outline, or not at all. The resin accessory makes it possible to build the model with the bomb bay open and so to turn an otherwise closed fuselage into an interesting focal detail, for instance on a model on a base or in a small diorama with a servicing scene.
Wash the parts first in warm water with detergent so that no release agent stays on the surface and the paint holds. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and do the sanding wet and with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the inside of the bomb bay and pick out the detail before you close it into the fuselage, because afterwards you will not get at it. Mark out the opening in the fuselage first, cut it with some margin and adjust it gradually by dry-fitting until the part drops in without being forced.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
