The kit captures the Polish tank 10TP in 1:100 scale from the Zebranomodel range. It is one of the less usual types that turn up in kits only rarely — for a collection of interwar vehicles it is therefore an interesting addition. The number of parts, the material and the marking options are stated on the box of the kit.
The 10TP was a Polish prototype of a fast tank from the second half of the 1930s. It followed the design school of the American engineer Christie, that is sprung running gear with large road wheels and long travel, which allowed high speed over ground. A particular feature was the wheel-cum-track solution: the vehicle could run on tracks, or the tracks could be taken off and it ran directly on the wheels, which saved the tracks during road moves. The turret carried a small-caliber cannon and a machine gun. Only a prototype was built; series production never got under way and the project stayed an illustration of where Polish thinking about fast armored vehicles was heading before 1939.
Christie-type running gear consists of large wheels, which in a small scale are the most on view — so check their alignment and even spacing dry, ideally against a base of flat glass. Paint the tracks and the wheels separately from the hull. Lay a thin base under the paint; a base sprayed unevenly in 1:100 creates a grainy surface that can no longer be put right. Polish prewar schemes work with several color fields whose edges are soft — in this scale you will reach that most easily with a brush and very thinned paint applied in several coats. Bring the detail out with a dark wash in the seams and a fine dry brush along the edges; keep the weathering sparing, as a prototype had no field service behind it.
