1:100 Hotchkiss H39 is a kit of the late form of the French Hotchkiss light tank in 1:100 scale from the brand Zebranomodel. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

The H39 is the best known shape of the French Hotchkiss light tank and in a collection it usually forms the counterpart to the early H35 forms. Zebranomodel offers it in the small 1:100 scale, in which a whole squadron can be built in the space of a single shelf. The model is a kit meant to be glued and painted. The exact contents of the package, the number of parts and the material of the castings are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The Hotchkiss H39 was based on the design of the H35, but it received a more powerful engine and a modified rear section of the hull; some of the vehicles were armed with a longer 37 mm gun with better penetration than the original short weapon. The layout remained traditional for French light tanks of the period: a crew of two and a one-man turret in which the commander worked the armament alone. The type appeared with both infantry and cavalry units and in 1940 was among the most numerous French tanks.
In the build, take care over the junction of the turret — in a small scale the gap between turret and hull is the most visible thing. If the set allows it, leave the turret free to rotate, which makes the model more interesting when displayed. In terms of color, French vehicles of 1940 are often done in multi-tone camouflage; in 1:100 suggest it with a fine brush and preferably with softer transitions, as sharp edges look coarse in this scale. Check the particular period scheme in the literature. Once it has dried, unify the surface with a matte clear coat, add a thin wash into the recesses and fine edge wear with a graphite pencil. A base made of a piece of wood lifts the model to a finished display piece.
