1:1000 T-S 43 Pod lesem is a model of an object of the Czechoslovak fortifications in 1:1000 scale from ROP o.s. It is a kit to be assembled and painted.

The model captures an object recorded under the designation T-S 43 with the code name Pod lesem. The code names of the objects were derived from local topography, so the name itself hints at the kind of surroundings the object belonged in. The model is a kit and is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Fortification objects never stood freely on a flat surface. They were sunk into a slope, banked up and camouflaged, so that mainly the front wall and the above-ground part faced the surroundings. When you set the model into terrain of your own, it is exactly this that pays to imitate: to create a slight bank, submerge the model partly into it and mask the joint with a sprinkled material. In 1:1000 scale a thin board of polystyrene or cardboard is enough as a base, the layers are then replaced by the slope of the terrain and a fine sprinkle serves as vegetation. Full-grown trees are modeled in this scale only as small tufts, not as individual trunks.
Check the seating of the parts dry and level the production residue with fine abrasive paper. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts: plastic parts will stand liquid cement for plastic, while resin ones call for cyanoacrylate glue and degreased surfaces. Thin the paints and apply them in thin coats. Concrete is well served by a light gray base, which you emphasize with a dark wash and a light dry brush on the edges. For an object set into vegetation it suits to add a hint of a green and brown filter on the lower areas, so that the model blends with the terrain.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
