An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Bell P-63 Kingcobra fighter in the small 1:144 scale from the manufacturer Dora Wings. The set is conceived as a two-in-one, so in the package you will find parts for building two models, complemented by photo-etched sheet for the fine details and a decal sheet. Thanks to the small scale the finished model is only about seven centimeters long.
The Bell P-63 Kingcobra was an American fighter of the Second World War that followed on from the P-39 Airacobra type and took over its unusual layout with the engine placed behind the pilot. The US Army Air Forces did not accept it for combat service, but it proved itself on a large scale with the Soviet Air Force and, to a lesser extent, with French units. The P-63A and P-63C versions differed in details of the armament and of the powerplant.
In 1:144 scale the parts are small, so work with a sharp knife and tweezers and bond the photo-etched parts with super glue. Apply a thin primer before painting and spray the metallic shades with an airbrush. The small dimensions will be appreciated by modelers who are building a collection of aircraft in a single display cabinet.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
