The detail set for the MD-87 in 1:144 scale from Metallic Details is a photo-etched set for the exterior detail of the model. It is not a kit but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set for refining the exterior detail of a model of the McDonnell Douglas MD-87 airliner in 1:144 scale. It contains an etched brass fret with small parts that give the model true-to-scale features unattainable in injection-molded plastic. It is an accessory for MD-87 models, not the aircraft kit itself.
The MD-87 is the shortened version of the successful MD-80 series, a twin-engined narrow-body jet airliner with the engines at the rear of the fuselage and a T-tail. Thanks to the shorter fuselage it had a better range and was popular with airlines for routes with lower demand. It was produced from the late 1980s.
Separate the individual parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and make the bends over a ruler or in a photo-etch bending tool. Use super glue (cyanoacrylate) or a thin glue meant for photo-etch. Degrease the surface before painting and apply a primer so that the paint holds well.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
