An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Boeing KC-97L tanker aircraft in 1:144 scale from Minicraft. The set offers two marking options for aircraft of the American National Guard and the US Air Force. Waterslide decals and parts for the outer jet engines, which distinguish the KC-97L version from the earlier machines, are included.
The Boeing KC-97 was an aerial tanker and transport aircraft derived from the Stratocruiser airliner. The KC-97L version was a modernization that added two auxiliary jet engines under the outer wing sections to the four piston engines in order to improve performance. It served above all with National Guard units.
Glue the parts with a thin plastic cement. Natural aluminum metal surfaces come out well after painting with metallic shades over a smooth base; individual panels can be distinguished with different metal shades. Apply a gloss clear coat before the decals. Glue the small antennas and the jet nacelles on at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
